Dawn Cameron-Dick is returning to teach in the barn in the summer and autumn 2008. Come and enjoy the company of other quilters, have expert tuition in the barn and eat home cooked lunches what could be more idyllic.
Both of the courses will be full of ideas,tips and suggestions for you to design your own quilt and enhance your quilting skills. You can follow a pattern from one of Dawn’s books or finish that project that has been sitting around for some time.
Students will be able to sew as much or as little as they please…you are here to enjoy yourself and take in the ambience of the Somerset Levels, River Parrett and the gardens of Lilac Barn.
Outings can be made to Quilting shops, or local attractions…Wells Cathedral, Street (factory outlets) Glastonbury and its Abbey or the local Willow and Basket Centre.
Students are limited so there is plenty of room for cutting, design, and ironing boards.
This course is residential or non-residential for those living near. If you would like to have a sampler day here then that is possible too

Please come equipped with the following:
Sewing machine
Sewing kit (to include tape measure and sharp scissors)
Fabric (Contact Dawn or Cherry if you need advice on this).
This course is perfect for all levels of quilter. It covers all aspects of Patchwork & Quilting with lots of ideas and tips for easy and successful quilts. Students also learn Dawn's signature technique, Invisible Machine Appliqué, some paper piecing and ultimately create a unique quilt done completely to their own tastes.
Enrol soon as the course will be popular. She has already taught this workshop in Spain and France so we are delighted that she is returning to Lilac Barn.
Alternatively why not book the barn for a day and come with friends from your group spend the day sewing. A large table is available for large quilts to be worked on.
Home cooked lunch, and lots of tea, coffee and biscuits can also be provided
